Heywood's FIRST and only Horror Convemtion
A horror con with community at heart
We started Horrorwood because we wanted to bring all the fun of the big city, big ticket events to our hometown, and we KNEW there was a whole horde of horror loving legends, hiding in the shadows that were itching for an event that tailored to them and their interests. And so, Horrorwood was born!
We came back for a 2nd year and it was brilliant! We had stalls, a scare zone & walkthrough, movie clips, trailers and talks and as always our tattoo area was as popular as ever!
Stay tuned, as we think wer'e just crazy enough to do it AGAIN next year!

We can't promise you big A list stars, but what we can promise is that every aspect of the convention is lovingly designed to be as good as it can be and for fans of Horror, macabre and spooky stuff - you will find a home at Horrowood!
FAQ's
Is there parking onsite?
Yes, there is free parking on site, but we can't guarantee availability as it is a public car park. There is also disabled bays available but, again, we're not able to pre-book or guarantee availability.
Is there a cash machine on site?
No, but there is a Morrisons supermarket literally over the road that has several free to use cash machines.
Is the traders hall cash only?
No, most of the traders will have the facility to take card payments. However, most for prefer cash.
Do I have to pre-book a ticket or can I pay on the door?
You can pay cash on the door, on the day, from 11am. Hiwever; due to capacity restrictions at the venue , we can not guarantee entry on the day. If you want take advantage of the movie showcase, you'd be best pre-booking a Premium ticket as the movies start before on the door entry in available.
Can I dress up?
YES!! We actively encourage costumes & cosplay and even have a cosplay contest planned.
Is it child friendly?
Mostly!
We try to be as family-friendly as possible, but there are some elements, like the movie showcase, that are restricted to 18+ only. The main event is accessible to children, but it's at your discretion whether you think it will be suitable or not.
